Huntingdonshire District Council has launched the Local Plan Issues Papers consultation. We would kindly ask that you encourage residents and businesses in your local area to respond to help shape the future of Huntingdonshire.
The Issues Papers highlight known issues in the district and ask for people’s opinions and priorities. The consultation covers topics including:
- vision and objectives
- responding to the climate crisis
- enhancing the natural environment
- supporting places
- meeting housing needs for all
- promoting a prosperous economy
- developing high quality sustainable communities with supporting infrastructure
- distributing new growth.
The consultation runs for 10 weeks until Wednesday 5 July 2023. Responses can be submitted through the online planning portal.
There are three options to help maximise responses to the consultation and capture as many different opinions as possible:
- The Issues Engagement Paper – an in depth look at the issues including detailed questions to encourage comprehensive responses
- The Issues Summary Paper – a quick look at the headline issues, with one or two open questions to get your opinions
- The Issues Easy Read Version – a simplified document with tick box questions
In addition to the Issues Papers, the Call for Sites consultation is also underway until Wednesday 7 June along with the Settlement Hierarchy Methodology and Land Availability Assessment Methodology (LAA), which both run until Wednesday 10 May 2023. Comments can be made on the council’s planning portal.
Provided at the bottom of this briefing is some draft text that can be used on social media accounts and in emails, should this be appropriate. Posters are also attached if you would like to display those in noticeboards or distribute across your networks.
